...and then she woke up. envoyé par Elaine Fichter le 07/02/2012 @ 21:59

Our ir-responsabile Barbet reprensentative has spoken: do not send me any of your dogs' hipscores...but, who asked you to send them to me in the first place? No one. They were all to go to Dr Geissant a bit more responsible than average representative of the club, who was to send them in January to Dr Mimouni, for his article. I will not have anything to do with gathering that info.

Not many ask anything of the club as it stands because we all know nada will happen. This explains why our VP is working to get things right.

Shame the Bird carriercoach is always a bit off schedule.

Reading that created more controversy envoyé par Elaine Fichter le 06/02/2012 @ 07:41
The fact is that I do possess most of the current information( meaning from the last 100 years or so) about the Barbet breed, makes it that I can be and am attacked as soon as a truth comes out.

Nothing hurts more than the truth. I can understand that.
Who does it hurt? The one whose bubbledone just be popped or the breed?

People who arrived willing and happy thinking they were working for the breed and its survival certainly would like to think they have not had the wool(ly) pulled over their eyes, and then when they find out years later that what they thought they had was far from what it was supposed to be, they are disappointed to say the least and yes, need to blame someone.

What I read flabbergasted me.

When databases refect true pedigrees and information is hidden and when asked, breeders tell you "the people who need to know, know" well, that is uacceptable. We are the people who need to know. All of us and not a limited forearm type circle.

I have seen people get spaniels in their litters for lack of information and no, that should not happen as each Barbet birth is precious and yes, I have taken away pups from Coccolina's litters because she is small and yes I am more worried about her well being that selling more pups, but with experience I can now almost say I can handle the larger litters. I don't like such big litters but I can handle them. I have very little or no help, but I just do it.

As far as comments, and mud-slinging:

It now does not even hurt me as it did when there were so many violent reactions to anything I said a few years ago.
I guess I have grown from it and it has made me less vulnerable. don't "they" say :what does not kill you will make you stronger?"

What I read flabbergasted me.

After so many years of doing research and so many before me having given up on the breed ( can't imagine why!! seeing how people love to hate me and my writings),but somebody has got to do the dirty work and I have empowered myself to do it.
If I were to lie I would not forgive myself as others can so easily.

The breed was never extinct, no one can prove a breed is extinct or not, whether an insect or a flower until the last one is cocumented as dead.

Someone(s) started that rumour to hurt, damage and destroy what was left of the breed.

Others repeated it...stupidly without doing any research. Libraries are open to everyone.

There is documented proof that I had access to and told you about.
The thesis I have is at the SCC and has been there for those doing real research, meaning to further the breed and not compare the spelling of 2 names, with excessive testosterone attacks.

All I have is connecting, true, and cross-checkable and it is even scary to me, but after almost 10 years of researching, I must say I am happy that I/ me/ myself was not wrong. And no one has ever called me "her royal highness"!

A Machiavellic plan to destroy the old breed. envoyé par Elaine Fichter le 05/02/2012 @ 07:54

Just like when you have a song in your head and it won't go away, for the last 2 days what I am going to share with you has not left my head.

I will share it aloud here, because it is important and has nothing to do with people who can't think in their heads any more and anything they think comes out through their mouths, regardless of its importance.

In the Thesis below, done in 1991, like in G Orwell's 1984, this person had prediced what would happen to the breed IF the sizes of the dogs was not brought down rapidly.

He says that when measuring the 2 existing lines:
one pure Barbet ( which descended from the 1930's dogs) and the one built from dogs with no origins crossed with poodles, the dogs had a completely different morphology, and measurements were the proof that he used. Those measurements, I have. He has and he was able to prove that they corresponded to the dogs of M Le Houelleur and Dr Vincenti's dogs.

That information is in this document and was completely ignored by JC H

Another fact: when measuring the dogs issued from poodles and poodle types the proportions of the head were completely reversed while they were still the same size, as the pure Barbets.( despite what it says in the standard !) Can you even imagine??????

DNA is not even necessary, you take the raw dog and you can prove how what was done to the breed has nothing to do with what J de Coninck wrote as a standard. Nothing.

The fact that the Ayme family was the link from the 40's to the 70's was not even a question, but a fact, meaning that it happened after 1991.

It was very disturbing reading because it allowed me to connect a lot of information, and to wonder how many people knew about this and have deliberately hidden the information for 20 years in order to better create a living space for their master race.

For the last 2 weeks, and members of the Authentic Barbet group are aware of it( and you too!), I have separated to start, males into categories by size
59 or 60 and up
57 58
54 55 56
It is as clear as cristal and as a matter of fact in my own corner I was proving what he had said without knowing about it.......that is scary.
I have taken photos from here and there and made size families.

So 20 years in 1984...How can people have lied or withheld such important information to only destroy a breed? I just cannot believe it. These people are supported by the incompetence of others who flap their lips with nothing to say but their thoughts out loud.

Here is a family. There is no Barbet blood in any of these, but are all of the same family:

Monsieur Barbet du Pré Lévêque. Photo removed for very private reasons that I fully respect, until I have another one.

Alias de L'ile Romande

Amaretto Romeo de la Baie des Landes

Common ancestors, going back to a long line of poodles. There are many others and they all fit in the scenario: the history of the modern barbet reconstructed in a reverse "selection" process to eradicated the Griffon Barbet for which the standard was written.

Then, accept tails on the back, bushy coats that do not form strands,
and make sure dogs with Barbet blood are eradicated and that is the scenario you are reliving from 20 years ago.

Disregard proportions, accept and encourage incompetence and tall square dogs who are only selected on coat, and you are a proud contributor to the destruction of a rare French breed. Judges are not any better....when it comes to some being incompetent. The list is long.

And don't get me going on sizes and weight, because that is not true either.A 60 cm dog is not a Barbet.Much less at 63 or 65.

Barbet symposium August 2012, France envoyé par Elaine Fichter le 05/02/2012 @ 06:57

These are a couple of photos, for you to get the idea of what it would look like. The SCC patronned this event for another breed in July 2011.

There will be, for those of you whose language skills are limited, an interpreter who will be translating via headphones. Look real close at the people sitting in the first rows on the left and you will see them.

The sign up sheet is here( the latest version):

There are some sites with false and misleading information, beware! The Symposium starts immediately after the end of the Barbet judging, not AFTER the NE, which would be a bit ridiculous. This club site seems to not want people to have the correct information.
