Reading the Barbet standard correctly envoyé par Elaine Fichter le 23/05/2010 @ 12:27
There is all but too much going back and forth about the Barbet, what it is does, eats and dreams...and how it is supposed to look...
There are official documents(the STANDARD) about the description of the Barbet made by competent people at the SCC. The Barbet is a French dog and the standard is French and it needs to be respected, regardless of the country it is born and raised in..!It is a water dog.
Poppenspaler's Bisou in the Netherlands envoyé par Elaine Fichter le 23/05/2010 @ 10:46
Bijou is in the same area as Beaudine( Quaciendas Aubey x CompayII), so that is nice because the more there are, the better "brand identification" there will be and when people see how they are and how they behave, it's great for the breed!
Looking for an artist to draw a Barbet...I am! envoyé par Elaine Fichter le 22/05/2010 @ 13:58
...so, Y. said: "why don't you just write him!" I said, "ok"! and voilà! By return mail, he answered, the nice lad... Why chew on the fat forever? You know my motto: "Just do it."
If anyone knows of an artist who could do this, I'm looking...In the meantime, enjoy Simon Drew.
Very touching key word... envoyé par Elaine Fichter le 22/05/2010 @ 09:52
"How do we help American Barbets survive?" was typed on my site...sad call.
"That is a good question", whoever asked. I know several people are working really hard for the "old bloodlines" to survive, and communication is the key word among them, among us.We do communicate well together and that is wonderful.
However, There is not a lot of open communication overall in the "breed" and that is not helping anyone.
One example: the person elected democratically by another breed's members of the club and who has, for the last month, only spent time asking how a dog( mine of course who else?) who got an "insufficient" at a show recently( of course one of the 5 purest left alive in the world), got his judgement removed off the official documents of a dogshow...Now, if it's that important then ask them, no? AND be transparent enough to tell everyone in an "official club communiqué"...
Then,is that important enough to worry about ? or does it just show the triviality in what is done about the breed? I'd say, number 2. I will remove this post after the weekend ( gives some enough time to copy it)
