Interesting: Barbet >Frenchshow results 2009 + envoyé par Elaine Fichter le 11/02/2010 @ 20:15
There are supposedly 9 breeders of Barbets in France. I am not sure they are all members of the club. The list is only for members of the club, regardless of where they live. I'm wondering why there are no Canadian results, unless there are no Canadian members for 2009. It's impossible to get any information from the club, so....makes you wonder. There are some results from a foreign dog, so foreign resulst are accepted.
I was going through show results for France in 2009. Very meager in quantity. Of course, when you look at what goes on behind the scenes, it makes it more understandable.
La serve de la Chapelle d'Alexandre: 7 dogs did several shows which means 18 dog participations at shows. (+ Club specialty not mentionned anywhere) Poppenspalers':2 ( 6 total participations)( 10 with the Barbets from Italy owned by the breeder) Grèves d'Armor: 3 Champs Galants: 1 Perte aux loups: 2 (3 participations)
Amaretto Nero: 0 Etang de Fontmerle: 0 Baie des Landes:0 Cale des Rouleaux: 0
Barbochos: retired.
Some foreign dogs( mostly Ezia Zagone) did some shows (as usual) or there would have only been a single page of show results for the Barbet. To be added another foreign kennel for 5 participations in France( owned by a French breeder)
A good question would be..why so few? So many flapping their lips about how fantastic and competent they are, but doing nothing to forward the breed? Didn't the President ask people to spend their time doing shows?
I have the answer. The club is not at all interested in what is going on with the breed and when they do decide to do something...well. It ain't always what you expected they would do for the survival of a rare breed that is French.Sad.
"Give me the pits and keep them cherries".I say..;and they are.
How many committee members does it take to change a light bulb?
A compliment I would like to share with you! envoyé par Elaine Fichter le 10/02/2010 @ 20:03
I was told today by someone who knows, that the Compay II type of Barbet was being recognized internationally as the line goes backwards and is going forwards as a so far, healthy line. AND being identified as a "real" Barbet. Thank you all of you who have helped in that direction. If we can do the same thing in brown, then....the sky's the limit.
Thank you.

S'Gandar/ Gauguin/ CompayII/ Banditt envoyé par Elaine Fichter le 10/02/2010 @ 11:41
Bloodline 1 of the Barbet Français: Le Houelleur (an SCC judge who "officialised" the Barbet in the 20's and continued in 1968 as documented at the French SCC)
through Gauguin des Marécages du Prince (1991), Compay Segundo de la Serve de la Chapelle d'Aleexandre and now close to being Canadian Champion, Compay II and Aubey's son..........Banditt von der Leibrücke..
Very very exciting for the "old bloodlines" and the Barbet Français, to be able to show such continuity in the Barbet!
, we have records at our SCC, whilst the French club working ever so hard for the survival of the breed, has none...and sometimes it shows.
Rare Breeds at the SCC: M Georgii is honored. envoyé par Elaine Fichter le 09/02/2010 @ 21:19
You will see a Poppenspaler's: Vetliner, honoring Mr. R T Georgii after so many years of hard work! Vetliner is brother to Vincacao, my Che's mate for the litter born in December 2009.
