A lookalike to Bruss du Haut Paquis and more. envoyé par Elaine Fichter le 28/09/2011 @ 18:36
On a website, we are reminded that a Radjah was a sand colored dog in Canada way before the current litter of pups which includes lovely sand ones. Bruss is in the pedigree, so no surprise.

A Bruss/ Jerry lookalike, ok. Normal. Enjoy the lovely photo in the article!

The Radjah on the mentionned website probably looked like Bruss and co, because there is no Barbet blood in that dog. The below link is probably a sibling since he is not listed on the database. Give to Ceasar who belongs to him!

Rumour has it. envoyé par Elaine Fichter le 28/09/2011 @ 17:22
The President of the SCC appears to have resigned today and left the SCC.

There are a lot of people there with real long teeth waiting in the wings to take over his chair while it still warm, is.

Can't tell you if it's good news or bad news, I can only hope as many other people in many other breeds, that whomever comes next is interested in what is going on with the dogs and not with who is who and how fast he can get to the top of the organisation.

Did I tell you he was the one who imposed the judge for us at the WDS? Well...

More and more people are complaining about the quality of the judging of French judges. The info is not a scoop. It is on a lot of sites, especially after WDS and French Championship 2011.

What a reputation these guys have. Not that long ago one had to resign because he was shooting cats with a gun in his garden and had in passing, takien dosh out of the SCC register to build his swimming pool.He went to court and was condemned.

This current affair? We're going to hear about it rapidly. More money at stake?
Did you know that a judge with miles and hotels re-imbursed can get an additional 1200€ or so per month to add to his or her retirement...I say retirement because there is a majority of really aged people at the SCC.
What next.
At least this one did answer one letter I wrote him, which was the most important. The others, he forwarded to the club who proceeded to sit on them to keep them warm. Then, you wonder why no one wants to publish anything on the french Club website?
Wonder no more.

BCE this coming Saturday Oct 1st in Lorris, France envoyé par Elaine Fichter le 26/09/2011 @ 19:57
I have just found out there are 12 dogs signed up.I had to ask the Barbet responsible.
20 people having lunch.
Time to be there is between 10 and 11 am ( at the pond in Lorris)
The dogs doing the TAN will go first.
Then, the ones doing the BCE.
It is possible to just "show up" and do it, without having previously signed up.
I'd guess if you don't have a "carnet de travail" you can get it after.
It would be nice to get some foreigners to do it. Lorris is not that far from Paris, near Sully-sur-Loire, a lovely town with a beautiful castle.
The weather should be peeeeeeeeeeeeerfect!Better than in July!Think about it!

Shame the French Club is not even able to update any information ever, concerning the Barbet on their site which, as a matter of fact has nothing but generic stuff on it, or outdated info. When I wrote the club had not the competences to manage? Well.
I tell not we say in French.Go look! Would I lie?haha.

A Barbet-type up for adoption in France envoyé par Elaine Fichter le 26/09/2011 @ 09:59
This male has been neutered. He is there since July 2011. I have a souvenir of some births in the so. of France a while back, that were not LOF/ SCC registered. This Barbet could be from that litter.
He is between Perpignan and Narbonne. It is best to call in the afternoon if you are interested in saving him.

A perfect day in Paris at the Guide School for the blind envoyé par Elaine Fichter le 25/09/2011 @ 19:29
I decided to go Paris today, to see in person what the litter: Booly Wooly + Djazzy des Grèves d'Armor looked like, first hand. A very interesting experience it was for me, it was. Worth it!

5 of the 6 youngsters were there. The 6th one is being trained in another school. All black and very very different from each other...As soon as I put the photographs together, I will show you.
Enough said about that, for now.

I met a delightful woman and her 11-year old guide dog, born at Poppenspaler's name Rousquille.
I had this dog's photograph from years ago and ran into the lady who is absolutely head over heels about her Barbet. Rousquille will have to retire soon and will be looking for a home to spend her days. If anyone in France is interested? I will be posting this message again because she is not "ready" to go yet. This Barbet has been perfectly healthy all of her life and it is quite rare for a dog to work beyond 9 years of age. I sat on a bench and chatted with the lady for a real long time. I wanted to share that with you. This lady will be getting one of Booly Wooly and Djazzy's pup in about 6 months or so, so she will continue with a Barbet.

I am sorry I was not able to see Dona ( Thelma+Ungaro) who is the reason why the Guide school asked me to use Thelma's offspring for a mating. She is absolutely incredible as a guide dog and gentotype proved to be true. I was told today that is was exceptional to have 6 out of 6 in the program. Yeah!
scroll down to Barbet. dona is on the left; Rousquille on the right.
