Of course it's much easier to show a Barbet with no coat and win when your judge is a friend. No grooming, no brushing, no nothing. In that case, it's better to just have a Braque or a pointer as pet.
This is his first time with the " 1/2 look" of a Poodle, but in Mâcon a couple of hours ago they said he couldn't be a Poodle!OUF.
Well, bottom line and all kidding aside( sort of) he's done showing for this year and no I will not take him to a show looking like that,
I'm joking. Others aren't, when they do.
So, now you see his body (wowee
)and I'm sure those who are into shaving dogs for whatever invented reason they have invented, are not any further than before since they don't really care about Barbet morphology and only care about curls, curls curls. And NO, I'm not doing the head...there are limits to what you do to a "purebred dog" that has a standard dated 1891, out of respect for our elders. Dogs or people since we never really know who we are concerned with, now do we.
By the way, look at his nice tail and his perfect size: 58...and he also has perfect teeth! Some are and have had problems with tail issues and females at 60 cms, so taller than an average Barbet male. To each his own,eh!Never mind the long long list of health issues of the Modern Barbet deposed on BI:the forum recently. Shame, there's not much cooperation, but lots of enuendos from the same people, as usual.
