And yes, of course there are 2 Barbets! envoyé par Elaine Fichter le 20/07/2011 @ 13:41
Again, look at foundation of any's dead easy! then re-read the letter from the pdt of the SCC! Mixing 2 rescues does not a breed make! There was not a drop of LOF Barbet blood used in the Barbet "moderne". Some was added much, much later ( since the beginning of the 21st century or so,barring an exception or 2, meaning Marécages du Prince, as one)

Something very important to me...and my research on the Vieux Barbet français envoyé par Elaine Fichter le 20/07/2011 @ 13:37
I had been waiting for a long time to be able to see the standard of the Chien de Crau. Question of colors, among others. It is now published and it does take a lot of time to research the pedigrees and compare morphology. I finally sat down this morning and decided to do it.
Amazing.Enjoy. it's in French, but you are all becoming very bilingual, now!

For some other comments about Barbet and Barbet life in general, Greet says it as she feels, and I must say, I don't disagree...There's a translator available. Sometimes, it's a bit off in the translation, but I believe you will understand what she is trying to say!

Don't laugh... envoyé par Elaine Fichter le 19/07/2011 @ 10:23

Look, bottom left. Compay II and the Trophy! Taken when Paula and Jennifer were here, just before we left for the Paris "show-down"where the club got even with the breed(s).

Ok, so, back to the trophy story... we had our "famous" annual club specialty show in May.If you remember, it was mostly organized and managed by one person (sometimes 2)with the pdt absent and the other members of the committeee showing dogs.
It was to finish at 12 30, but finished at 7pm.....and no TAN.Who cares, it was only for a few people and not any of importance.

Soooooooooo, just before the show, I thought I would once play "French" meaning say nothing and wait. Wait for what, you say? Wait for them to ask me to bring the Georgii Challenge Trophy so that it could be given to the next winner.... one asked, no one said anything, so I kept my mouth shut, for once and it paid off. When I got it last year, many were choking on their spit, so no one took any photos.haha.

There is so much communication and so much work done for the Barbet, that they couldn't remember that I had it. Can you imagine!Yep, our club working for the Barbet, or against at any opportunity they get.I'd say.
And these are the people who decide on the life or death of a breed.....which is not even theirs for the most part and for which they know next to nothing and are not interested in.

After trials and tribulations... envoyé par Elaine Fichter le 19/07/2011 @ 09:56

...that have lasted nearly one year, Bisou finally has an export pedigree to the Netherlands! Our french governing authority refused to help the lady after accepting to help another one, but no comment on that one.

The mistake was an SCC mistake who still wanted the owners to pay for the export pedigree, the mistake and what-have-you.
Of course, you would think that an elected-by-her-buddies-for-her-competences, person in charge of the breed would help resolve the situation, but, nooooooooooooooooo.
So, after 3 rounds on the phone and trying to get one to understabnd, I finally managed to get the work done for another breeder, who kinda fell off the face of the earth. that must of course make some oodle breeders very happy.
Our reponsible?
She is only around to tell us there is only one Barbet. Gets old after a while. What has been done since her election? Well, big secret! She may get off her rear soon? Don't count on it.
The elections?
... the next one is is one year. At clubs, it's the same thing as with the French presidential( or elsewhere) election and they are all on the campaign trail. Promises, promises especially to do nothing which is much better!
Bisou is a beautiful Barbet, old bloodlines(Poppenspaler's),Georgy would be proud of her. Look at that fantastic long curly Barbet moderne will ever in a million years, have that kind of coat.

Don't believe me? Go see! envoyé par Elaine Fichter le 18/07/2011 @ 20:50
A generic club site with not a piece of pertinent information on it...nothing new, It's the 4th ( 5th?) website, not any better than the first. they do nothing for the breed, why should we contribute? Ludicrous.
