Before I started losing my temper, I did manage to tell our judge that Udine, whom he raved as being a beautiful dog who moved well in the ring and blablabla...was one of the purest Barbets left on earth.
He was a bit perplexed, and speechless. Then, he quickly moved on to the next subject.
Right now, and here, I'm going to move onto my next subject connected to the U litter of Barbochos de Reiau de Prouvenco...This is Europe and yes, many think they "own" what is happening to the Barbet and can do as they want with it? Well, you must know that in Finland the litter with D'Illona( of course, de la serve de la chapelle d'Alexandre x Ursus di Barbochos Reiau de Prouvenco) is being refused registration* at the kennel club because some overzealous ones on a breeding committee are trying to make die any Barbet blood connected to the breed on the grounds that she was too young and Ursus was not yet Finnish and some other incredible excuses.
Won't mention what happenend to Ulysse..today.
That is one way to do it.
Another way to kill a breed is to know only what you have heard from not so reliable sources and repeat it. I can give you some examples of clubs...and their pdts.
And then to crossbreed a crossbred with another one.
While many just sit there and absorb this, the real Barbet, is being slaughtered merrily, merrily, merrily.
* In other countries, no one bats an eylash when a female is bred 3 times in a row, starting at age 1.5 and a male used up at 2. Who cares, roll in that $.
Who cares about the breed surviving, let's bank( $$) on the "rare".
