Whilst some show power by deciding on the life or death of a Barbet( purest around today), others show lack of any type of power by doing nothing.
You would think that somewhere along the line there is a happy medium. I am starting to accept that with many we're getting nowhere fast.( although deep down we all know)Which does not mean I will give up...don't get all excited. I will not. I have been gardening...that's all.
Ursus* is being hasseled in his country of "adoption", so a litter is pending registration, when worldwide there are not many births and in the country of the Barbet(remember, it is France) anything is done and efforts are made to do nothing. Ursus has been asked to get his hipscore a second time...never mind the aenesthesia.
That takes a particular type of practice.
So, six is a half and half a dozen is six...what's the point? Better to get a dog with no ancestry in there, no?( A T.I?)
I keep hearing people telling me they are not renewing membership at the French club ( which I certainly would have a hard time justifying wasting the money on a club that drags its feet run by a PWD breeder, a Lagotto breeder and a Golden retriever breeder, none of which have a clue what a Barbet is, and I would add nor do they really care. They have their own breed to manage, not ours.)
If I'm not mistaken, a majority of Barbet people at the club were foreigners, locals having given up on the club a long time ago.
Halleluiah to those who voted them 3 to get where they are.
I even would say that since Georgy( Poppenspaler's) has retired from our Barbet world, in France no one has gone to a show in 6 months...
I for one, feel I have been doing enough and spending money for no reason is...a waste. You know where glory goes.
After all, not spending 200€ to make a club collect 200 and go past go, is of no use.
* Photo of Ursus 6 years old, having to redo his hipscore X-ray because said club doesn't trust the French hipscore system.
Put that in your pipe. Then you wonder why "we" don't trust anyone?
