This year Compay II will be representing the breed on Monday the 21st of February as winner of the Club Specialty show for the Barbet.
It's amazing how the lines come down, isn't it? Corisande and Thelma.
If you think about it for a minute, you'll see Yatzie, Ulysse, Ursus,...Hercule...Joyeuse...Yes, it's all coming real clear!http://www.pawpeds.com/db/?a=p&id=784230&g=4&p=bar&date=iso&o=ajgrep
On Sunday the 27th, we will be returning to Paris with Compay II, Thelma and Corisande to represent the "Races à faible effectif" meaning breeds with few births.Showing dogs that look alike and look like the bloodline they come from.
I am going because the general public is there and there are thousands of visitors and lots of opportunities to see that the breed is what it is and it is alive and well. I also really want to show dogs that look like what they have looked like for over 100 years, meaning the Barbet is a Griffon and not a poodle.
Also, Compay II will be shown on Saturday the 19th representing PRONATURA, to the general public. That's 3 round trips to Paris, in a week, but I feel that IF in 2011 we can't get the message across to the world as far as what a Barbet is supposed to look like, it will never happen.
Sterile fights and the republican monarchy we are submitted to, along we freelance interpretations of what OUR FRENCH breed is supposed to look like will never end, so we need to reach the general public and get away from breeders, groomers and the likes who know IT all, but not much about our FRENCH RUSTIC breed.
So I will do whatever I have to do to be present for those dates in Paris. It is a question of survival.
