Someone typed his name as key word yesterday. I certainly hope that person comes back. I would appreciate getting a photo of this dog.
Thank you.

Bo Duck: should I stay or should I go? envoyé par Elaine Fichter le 07/11/2010 @ 08:26

Beaudine von der Leibrücke.

By the way, this month, November 2010; she is featured in a Dutch dog magazine, which appears to be difficult to find because it is sold out, already. Can anyone help me get the pages and cover? I'd appreciate it!

Because she's worth it! envoyé par Elaine Fichter le 05/11/2010 @ 20:51

Coccolina got groomed today. This doesn't happen very often!Down from 8 cms which is what she had after me shaving her body ( NEVER the head or the tail) when she had pups in February.
I thought she would look nice after a real groomer had taken care of her properly.
She, of course, has never been shaved from head to toe, I couldn't do that to her. She's too dear to me.
What's real nice is that the groomer has a black poodle, so it is easy for her to do a cut that looks like a Barbet cut.

Everyone and his uncle has announced it, but... envoyé par Elaine Fichter le 04/11/2010 @ 19:16

Poppenspaler's Vodka, aka Trulli is certainly proud to also announce the upcoming litter of her daughter Coda.Planned for the beginning of Janyary 2011.

Just have a look to my little added dimension, meaning bloodlines, and how they do what they are supposed to do!

This is Trulli, real yound and a few months later.

Then compare to my Froggies, taken 2 days ago.
A semblance of great ressemblance?

Vodka/Trulla's maternal Grandmama Hourri, was quite tall and her grandfather was rather real curly.Sangria's coat was real flat, which can happen....

Food for thought: The Bouvier de Flandres envoyé par Elaine Fichter le 03/11/2010 @ 08:59

It has been established that the Barbet (line1)has Bouvier in it.
It is admitted by few that the color that some Barbet have had or still do, comes from the shepherd.
It is written ( Royal Canin Encyclopedia) that in the Bouvier there could be Barbet...
I personally have been told by competent judges that there is Bouvier in Compay II.
I think it's worth investigating. The wide head, wide chest certainly doesn't come from the poodle. Nor do the eyes. Some of the colors not accepted in the PWD show up in the Barbet and are..
For long, the Spanish water dog colors were suspected.

If you are interested..check out some official Bouvier de Flandres club sites in different countries...they have some very interesting photos that they are proud of(Danish/ Swiss for example).
The Bouvier de Flandres has become a very homogenous breed. However from time to time, the past pops in.

..........If it can for others, why can't it for us? That's added proof that there were Barbets after WWII and that our breed was not any more extinct than any other.
I have been told that the Bouvier people used a Barbet to add new blood after WWII. Now, unfortunately, they are becoming more discreet about it.
Makes it difficult to get real info, these days. I can understand.
If anyone knows anything that could help that aspect of Barbet history, please let me know. I will get there anyway but help is always appreciated.
