Cruising for a bruising? envoyé par Elaine Fichter le 27/08/2009 @ 10:54
I am sure you have wondered why I have not been forced to shut up by higher authorities? Think about it. A few clubs/ individuals from some countries have already complained about my work.
It, of course, is in their best interest that people not know the truth.
BUT, it will come out for all of us who are working for the survival of the Barbet Français. On my MP3 , Mme la Présidente is the first to say the club has no archives on the breed, so how can they say anything about it or even talk about the breed.
It's, of course important for them to be surrounded closely by more people who know nothing about it. It makes for a united image.
Who cares about the dog!

I am also reminded to tell you all by a source who wants to remain unknown ( that is "à la mode" these days):
The Barbet is also a pointing dog, but it is the archetype of a water dog. Again, a dogs utility is not its only distincive characteristic. It needs to be repeated because it is not easy to understand ( or more to HEAR) for certain brains...

P. 190 Connaissance du Chien Apparence et Architecture by Bernadette and Guy Quéinnec.Published in 1991. I have copy 106 out of the 1000 printed. Also would like to add that Pr Triquet of French standards fame partook( we'll be talking about the Barbet 2006 standard shortly, and you're gonna love it) in the writing of this book.

After you get over all the poodles, go all the way down to the last line on the right. You will see Thais...8 generations...( of course the Bruss poodle in Jerry's pedigree could have helped influence.)

is growing up like a lovely Barbet that she is...and honoring her ancestors: Line 4 from Mrs Pêtre. Another recessive gene at work!
You will notice that the litter has not been entered. This is an international database...The litter is recognized in Finland, so FCI.
That is pure discrimination. The database is for everyone, not just...

When you imagine as you read in a post below, that all was put into place to stop Ulysse from reproducing. So I'm not the only one this is happening to. The Barbet is such a great dog, you wonder how nasty people can be to him. Why? Cheap thrills.

Yes, as Barbet historian, I look for families and how the dogs fit into a line. That is my right, isn't it or do I need permission? And from who?

Sorry, I know some of you don't appreciate the truth, but Thats' how it is. So why lie?

Continuing a pure Georgii unwritten tradition... envoyé par Elaine Fichter le 26/08/2009 @ 11:36

From left to right: Alex and his pack (with some lagottos); mine and Céline's (Valençay had a problem on his leg, it's not the grooming!)

I hope I have somewhere a photo of Georgii with his pack, when he arrived at dog shows..;It was an incredible sight. That, I will never forget!!!It must go down in history with the rest!

Nenu, the hunter in Great Britain, is a daughter of Betsy and Borée; Cybèle of Carlota Corday and Vincacao. These are good examples of The Barbochos de Reiau de Prouvenco line. Morphology and coat. AND seeing that Betsy and Borée were so different, part of the litter looks like dad and part like mom, and if you're real lucky, you get a recessive gene who gives you someone out of the past...history.

A lesson in courage to help save old bloodlines of the Barbet français envoyé par Elaine Fichter le 22/08/2009 @ 08:00

Some of you may or may not even know about this litter born in Finland in May 2009...The male, Ulysse di Barbochos de Reiau de Prouvenco is Swiss of address, and after a first litter of 14 beautiful Barbet typed pups, was forbidden to reproduce ever again by the Swiss breeding committee as his coat is not "frizzy/frisé" enough for some ...

Well, he has the Barbochos characteristic curly coat that others of us want to keep in the Barbet bloodlines... which is his inheritance before "he" was re-incarnated into an "oodle".

The owner of Ulysse, was fined by the Swiss SKS after an official complaint was filed against her by the Swiss Barbet club Breeding commission.Yep.
The result was also that none of the pups could ever be registered in Switzerland...(good thing none were supposed to go there).
When the litter was born, it was all reserved quicker than you can shake a stick...

We're talking about a rare breed management based on solely the coat type. That is scandalous. You will soon hear about the interesting discussion about that took place* at the pseudo French CTE meeting last Sunday. Then, we know we have a problem...well we knew we did, it just confirms what is going on with lack of management of the breed by the country of origin and no scientific basis to say anything except heresay and games people play for power and recognition.

Also, I would like to say that not ALL the Swiss are to be condemned for what happened, some disagree but have no say so.

* no one can contest the discussion. I have it on MP3. Rememeber that.
