You will see that this dog, Gloria du Partage des eaux, which I also owned for 2 days before she was put down, does not in any way shape or form go back to anything past 1980.
Don't forget to start at 9 generations, and go progressively back to wherever it statrs saying something.
(It starts with mutts at 6.)
Try this on for size! envoyé par Elaine Fichter le 06/06/2009 @ 20:03
Take the pedigrees and the different names and keep going back each time as far as you can. It’s tideous, but real interesting. Don’t forget to then also connect to the poodle pedigree website.

Then take for example goldi locks and go back 5 generations The Ebony king , go back as far as you can
You get to Mouton number one
We now could be in the 1880’s or so. That Barbet back then which could have been for some versions called a "chien mouton"...was probably when the real poodle goes back to and the Barbet (standard 1891) went to being a Griffon.
Have a look at this article, Bel Thor is a name I saw in one of the "Barbet" ancestors along with Dassin. Look at the dates.
Conclusion: if one can trace back 120 years of poodles that some descendants got eventually called barbets,( we don't know how)..why can’t we have traced back 90 years of Barbets with photos and official SCC pedigrees? It's all up to how people interpret the info they don't have.
Enjoy! It's fun because you will see black as a dominant color and some health info and lots of great names. Remember that all calculations have a % of mistakes of +/- 10%, some in there are likely descendants of some Barbet blood, but not many.

Some of you may have seen this page on my other website, I now have it in my hands.
For Thursday morning humour:2nd degree...guess which one the Barbet is?!
No, it is not the one in the middle. Nor is it the one on the left. However the one on the left was used to redip on the poodle which is the one in the.......middle. So that leaves you with the one on the right. Number 3.
At the bottom of the page it says:
9th international dog show, organized in Brussels, by the Société Royale St Hubert. I would deduce quite simply that there are a lot of other documents where that came from in Belgium, circa 1890 and that there were enough to write a stadard in 1891. Anyone know anyone who can do some kind of research...? Maybe it has already been done?
If not done soon we are going to be eaten up alive, chewed up and spit out by "oodles of doodles"...mark my words.
